Au nord de la baie de somme, longeant le massif dunaire du Marquenterre, s'ouvre sur un bois, une pâture d'un hectare. Au cœur de cette pâture, redessinée l'automne dernier autour de plusieurs cours d'eau, un pavillon en bois de quarante mètres de long sur six mètres de large pour trois mètres trente de haut est en construction. Il est destiné à accueillir des ateliers d'artistes, des lieux d'exposition, de séminaire, une agence de communication, une table d'hôtes et mille autre choses encore (ouverture prévue : 21 mars 2007).
Le principe en 3 axes :
ArtScapes
Des artistes expérimentent leurs approches de la nature. En s'invitant dans le paysage ils inventent leurs relations présentes et nos relations futures avec le monde.
Art Sessions
Rencontrer un artiste pendant l'élaboration de son projet. Echanger, partager et inventer ensemble notre relation à la nature.
Art Opening
Exposer les réalisations des artistes en résidence pour réfléchir sur notre relation actuelle et à venir avec la nature.
(10% des ventes est reversé à l'association Toit du Monde pour l'aide à l'enfance.)
Accès : aller à Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont puis suivre la signalétique "chemin d'accès à la mer" et prendre le "chemin des matelots" sur votre gauche puis "le bruit de l'eau".
To the north of the Bay of the Somme, a long line of dunes backs onto a wood that itself opens onto a pasture of one acres. At the heart of this field - which has this autumn been carved lightly into shape by a handful of new waterways - will be a wooden structure, forty metres long by six metres wide and three metres thirty in height. This building is destined to function as an exhibition space, as artists studios, and as a simple, local restaurant. The opening is planed for Fall 2006.
The Art Project will be structured around three main axis :
ArtScapes Creating. Artists exploring and developing their relationships to Nature, through their work. By immersing themselves in this very particular landscape, they will have a fresh context in which to re-evaluate their own attitudes and, by extension, all our attitudes, to the world.
Landscapes Sharing : visitors will have the possibility of meeting with artists as they research and deepen their projects. Everything will be done to facilitate impromptu exchanges that will have the potential to spark new thoughts and ideas around the central theme of our changing relationships to the non-urban landscape.
Art Opening Exhibiting : the exhibition spaces will host finished works by the artists in residence, and will be a vital part of the whole project by insisting on the link between practicing artists and the wider public.
To get here : from St. Quentin en Tourmont, follow the signs 'chemin d'access a la mer' and take the 'chemin des matelots' on your left. Follow this track for 50 metres,then turn into the entrance marked Le Bruit de L'Eau on your left.
